FIELD TECHNOLOGIST (CASUAL - 4 MONTHS)

We are seeking a Field Technologist for a three to four month term to assist in some or all of the following areas: setting up and conducting routine biological, microbiological and biochemical experiments, tests and analyses; conducting field research and surveys to collect data and samples of water, soil, plant and animal populations; and performing other technical functions in support of agricultural, plant breeding, biological and environmental research.

QUALIFICATIONS;

• 1 – 2 year Technical Diploma in Agriculture, biology, natural resources, wildlife, forestry or related field
• Less than 1 year related technical experience
• Previous related field work experience
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in independently and as part of a team
• Ability to endure long days, challenging conditions, and rigorous fieldwork
• Experience with some or all of the following: GPS, compass, navigation, 4X4, ATV, aerial image interpretation, working around helicopters
• Intermediate computer proficiency of Microsoft Office.
