Jaxon Engineering is looking for an experienced Field Test Engineer I to join our engineering core.
Jaxon is a distinguished leader in Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) hardening and survivability. Jaxon provides a range of construction services to include design, fabrication, non-destructive testing, corrosion control mitigation, failure prediction services, refurbishment level maintenance service, and transportable low-level surveillance test services.
Jaxon is seeking a motivated professional with a demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting often tight schedule and budgetary constraints to achieve customer, corporate and personal goals, and objectives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge, abilities, and relevant experience in multiple technical disciplines, strong program execution and management talents, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
The successful candidate will also be an effective team player; possess an ability to lead other engineers and technicians of all experience levels; be able to interface and communicate effectively with staff, customers, program management and corporate leadership; and welcome the opportunity to learn, grow, and become a HEMP-hardening subject matter expert.
Security Clearance: Preferred active Secret (or the ability to obtain one)
Required Travel: up to 50% annually, both domestic and international
Salary: $70,000-$90,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or Physics, or related STEM discipline
  • 1+ years’ experience in one or more of the disciplines mentioned above
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret and/or Top-Secret security clearance; current security clearance a plus
  • Willingness to be coached and to learn new skills in a rapidly growing industry
  • Proficiency with all types of time- and frequency- domain test equipment (oscilloscopes, network / spectrum analyzers, instrument control and data acquisition)
  • Knowledge of applied electromagnetics (EM wave propagation test and measurement)
  • Familiarity with AC and DC power systems
  • Detailed understanding of how to properly document test cases and create effective and focused testing plans
  • Project development and leadership skills are essential in planning and overseeing project tests
  • Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
  • Professional work experience in analyzing and testing computer hardware and software
  • Proficient with MS Office product

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical execution and oversight of multiple projects
  • Serve as Technical Subject Matter Expert for programs, including direct client interface
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved
  • Lead HEMP (High-altitude Electromagnetic Pulse) test teams in both laboratory and field settings
  • Generate and present a variety of technical documents (reports, presentations)
  • Perform quality reviews of technical documents and deliverables
  • Train, mentor, and educate staff
  • Ready to work at any given point of time and location
