Description:
The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, education and services at local, national and international levels. 950 people from 95 nations work at Swiss TPH focusing on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health as well as health systems and interventions.
The Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (EPH) investigates distribution and causes of infections and non-communicable diseases. To understand and promote the well-being of people in different cultural and environmental contexts, EPH applies various methods ranging from anthropology and social science to biostatistics and mathematical modelling as well as observational cohorts with biobanks.
The Access to oral health care (Axs2OH) team is currently looking for a Field worker with recruiting responsibilities (20 – 40%).
We are conducting a survey for a research project aimed at understanding access to oral health care among asylum seekers and refugees in Switzerland. We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented research assistants to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about contributing to meaningful research and gaining hands-on experience in a critical area of public health.

YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent spoken and read Arabic as well as English language
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Prior experience in research, data collection, or a related field is preferred would be an asset, but not required
- Advanced literacy in using smart devices (e.g. smart tablets, smart phones)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with survey participants in accordance with provided guidelines
- Assist in recruiting participants for the survey through various channels
- Collect and accurately record data from survey interviews
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling participant information
- Provide regular updates on progress and report any issues promptly
- Participate in person in weekly team meetings to review progress and receive feedback
