The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its EIB Global Directorate – Enlargement & Neighbourhood Department – Southern Neighbourhood Public Sector Division – Maghreb Unit, at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 6 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

• Final year of studies or University degree of a MENA/ACP partner country in Law, Economics, Finance or Political Science
• Professional experience in development finance field will be considered as an advantage;
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team;
• Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point);
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and French;
• Good knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Support the Loan Officers in due diligence tasks related to project appraisal (financial analysis, KYC, coordination of specialist input, project management);
• Support the Loan Officers in contract negotiations;
• Prepare Technical Assistance (including drafting of Terms of Reference) and Investment Grant proposals;
• Conduct market research, preparing presentations and briefings, data gathering as well as update of the internal databases.
