QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

To be successful, you possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a data entry, data validation, or similar role required;
  • Graduate of an Accounting program considered an asset;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven organization skills;
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and making sound judgement calls;
  • Superior communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively, as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline driven work environment;
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow instructions with minimal supervision;
  • Adept at using technology such as Outlook and the full Microsoft Suite, with a talent for learning new software programs quickly; and,
  • Excellent team player who contributes positively to the team culture

Responsibilities:

As a File Opening Clerk within our Creditor Practice team your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring file opening, prioritizing urgent requests and opening all others in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring accuracy upon file opening, then maintaining accuracy throughout the life cycle of the file with updates to information as necessary;
  • Identifying incomplete file information and researching/requesting missing information as required;
  • Completing thorough and accurate conflict checks daily;
  • Reviewing file opening procedures with new employees;
  • Processing outgoing wires, credit card payments, disbursements, etc.;
  • Supporting other accounting functions including billing, cheques, deposits, etc.; and,
  • Other duties as required
