QUALIFICATION PROFILE

Education:

  • Undergraduate Diploma or certification in related field preferred. Related work experience (3-5 years) will be considered as meeting the education requirement

Experience and Skill Set:

  • Minimum of 3 years of construction or construction related experience

Specific Accountabilities

  • Send out daily email with Fill Site Bookings for the next business day by 2:PM
  • Clear job sites for material acceptability & acquire the appropriate paperwork for each jobWork with the Risk Management Coordinator to deal with safety concerns/infractions in our fill site

Responsibilities:

Health and Safety:

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas. Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example.
  • Ensures safe and healthy working conditions in sites under his/her responsibility
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and country regulations
  • Promotes Lafarge safety guidelines & standards to customers & truckers hauling spoil into our Fill Sites

Financial Management:

  • Promotes a culture of performance. Effectively develops goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement
  • Working with Accounts Receivable to aid with solving invoice disputes
  • Working with Gatekeeper to assist in all Credit & Rebills.

Collections:

  • Assisting the credit department with the collection of customer payables

Customer Focus/Inside Sales:

  • Be a significant contributor to Lafarge’s reputation as an industry leader & solution specialist
  • Continuously develops offerings to differentiate Lafarge as the supplier of choice
  • Committed to finding solutions & adapting to customer needs
  • Work closely with TSM’s and CM to ensure customer booking prioritization is done accurately
  • Support TSM’s and CM with project management, entering quotes, and other administrative functions

Operations Management:

  • Daily communication with operations with an emphasis on transparency – Import volume Vs. Reclamation schedule
  • Constantly communicate add on & cancelations with fill site managers to ensure proper equipment & personnel are on hand to handle the projected volumes
  • Forecasting box totals to help keep operating costs down
  • Working closely with TSM’s to ensure soils are safely transferred from our depots to permitted fill sites and aggregate hauled back whenever possible.

Environment, Land & Community Relations:

  • Obtaining Soil Acceptance Agreements for every excavation job to ensure Lafarge is not held responsible for any material sent into our fill sites that contains any contaminates at concentrations exceeding the limits listed in in Schedule 3.1 of the BC CSR
  • Creating a detailed write up for each job site explaining the potential environmental concerns, if any
  • Ensure all fill meets Agricultural Land Use standards in BC CSR Schedule 3.1, and all fill is signed off by a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), including the soil analysis, stating that the concentrations for the screening parameters for all contaminants of concern are below levels for Agricultural Land Use that are presented in Schedule 3.1 of the BC CSR; Or a Stage 2 Environmental Site Assessment that it meets this standard.

People Management:

  • Work closely with fill site personnel to ensure proper fill site log in procedures are being used & no trucks dump until the job is approved & all the appropriate paperwork is obtained
  • Make sure fill site & scale personnel have all the correct job addresses & purchase order numbers (if required)
  • Keeping fill site personnel motivated & accountable with an emphasis on mind on task to limit preventable mistakes

  • Direct Reports: 0 Salaried
  • Indirect Reports: 0 Salaried, 0 Unionized hourly and 7 Non-union hourly
  • Relationships: Reports directly to the GVA Commercial Manager & work closely with Fill Site personnel, Scale Attendants, Territory Sales Managers & our Environmental Group.
  • 5operating plants, 2 Operation located in Abbotsford, BC, 1 location located in Pitt Meadows, BC, 1 located in Mission2 Transfer Stations, 1 located in Richmond, 1 located in Coquitlam.
