Are you looking for valuable hands-on experience to develop critical skills while working towards your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation?
Capital Power is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Financial Development & Accreditation Program (FDAP) in May 2025. This innovative CPA pre-approved development program provides on-the-job training. We will prepare you for challenging assignments within the organization and an exciting career with Capital Power.
During the program you will work with members of the Capital Power Finance team and rotate through a minimum of three different areas within the Finance department, spending approximately a year in each position. FDAP will provide you with a broad range of experience where you will be developing a variety of skills. This could include financial planning and analysis, corporate tax, operational accounting/reporting, external financial reporting, and internal audit.
Starting in May 2025, this program offers you not only the technical skills required but also opportunities for you to develop communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. The skill set acquired during these three years will meet the practical experience required to obtain your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- Completed Business/Commerce Bachelor’s Degree (including all the prerequisites to immediately enter the CPA PEP program).
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Self-motivation.
- Strong attention to detail.
