About the Role
We are currently seeking a Finance Analyst / General Cashier to join our Finance team.
As the Finance Analyst / General Cashier, you support the Area Financial Controller to ensure accounting practices remain accurate and compliant, you add professional value to the Finance Department in performing all financial tasks with integral competency.
Core Functions of your Role
Custody and safekeeping of the daily collections.
Hotel currency exchange
Daily banking / petty cash
Process due backs and reconciliation of any discrepancies
Review and maintain adequate internal controls and procedures
Administrative assistance to the Finance team with day-to-day operations needs
Maintaining and generating daily, weekly and monthly reports
Assistance with general ledger reviews and reconciliations
About you
Strong communication skills are needed, to be proficient with explaining financial information to non-financial stakeholders and to successfully collaborate with all Hotel departments and management team to achieve financial objectives. You will hold a tertiary qualification, be a qualified accountant and hold full time working rights in Australia.
The role requires clear written and spoken English skills, accompanied with a mature, pleasant attitude.
Appropriate accounting qualifications.
Demonstrated experience in carrying our accounts functions including maintaining a ledger in a large organisation
Demonstrated experience in the allocation of revenue and the matching of relevant financial transactions to the bank statement
Working knowledge of GST
Strong analytical and numerical skills, possessing a high attention to detail
Ability to effectively time manage large volumed workloads, to meet deadlines and perform well in pressure situations
Excellent Microsoft and Excel office skills
Authentic interpersonal & communication style
Experience within a 5 Star branded Hotel operation
