EXIGENCES ET QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Baccalauréat en finances, ou en administration des affaires et 2-4 années d’expérience pertinente, ou toute autre combinaison d’éducation et d’expérience jugée équivalente.
  • Titre comptable professionnel ou en voie d’obtention;
  • La personne dans ce poste doit maîtriser le français. Comme cette personne devra interagir fréquemment avec des collègues, intervenants et clients qui ne parlent pas le français, il est exigé que cette personne possède une bonne connaissance de la langue anglaise, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit;
  • Excellentes capacités d’analyse et de synthèse;
  • Fortes habiletés en communication (orale et écrite) ;
  • Esprit d’équipe et de leadership ;
  • Capacité de travailler de façon autonome à l’intérieur de délais serrés ;
  • Rigoureux et ayant le souci du détail ;
  • Capacité d’assimiler et d’appliquer des concepts théoriques complexes ;
  • Excellente maîtrise de la Suite Microsoft Office et très fortes compétences démontrées avec Excel;

Gazifère, the exclusive distributor of natural gas in the Outaouais, and a dynamic and rapidly growing business, is looking for a Financial Analyst II.
Gazifère’s Financial Team seeks to fill a fulltime position and as part of the Financial Team, this position is responsible for the execution of the company’s accounting, budgetary and regulatory cycle.

Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Collaborate in month-end activities, prepare journal entries, reconcile, analyze, explain variances and create financial reports primarily for Activities related to gas cost tracking and high-volume customer follow-up ;
  • Identify, and analyze major variances in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including, but not limited to, assumptions for volumes, distribution rates, customer additions, operating expenses, capital expenditures and income tax.
  • Provide data, reports, and ad hoc analysis to ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of the information provided, and as to present it for decision making.
  • Collaborate on interim and year-end audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory responses and documents.
  • Participate in the preparation, analysis, and distribution of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Participate in budgeting to support the regulatory team, forecasting and long-term planning process.
  • Review financial processes and reporting as to always seek to improve efficiency.
  • Continue to update and develop modeling tools to meet business needs.
  • Seek to become versatile in all Finance Team tasks.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, or business administration and 2-4 years of experience, or any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent
  • Professional accounting designation, or in the process of obtaining
  • The person in this role must be fluent in French (speaking, reading, writing). As the person in this role is required to frequently interact with colleagues, stakeholders and clients that do not speak French, a proficient knowledge of English(speaking, reading, writing) is also required
  • Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Capability to work in a Team environment, and to work independently within tight deadlines
  • Leadership and Team Spirit skills
  • Thorough and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to assimilate and apply complex theoretical concepts
  • Excellent understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite and very strong demonstrated Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion will be considered as an asset
