Description:

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Experience working within an operations-facing finance team
  • Experience with Financial Modelling using Excel
  • Experience with Data Analysis with large data sets
  • Business (Finance) Acumen
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Organised and thorough, with attention to detail
  • Team player but able to work independently and proactively
  • Good time management with the ability to achieve deadlines
  • Capable of operating to tight schedules in a demanding environment
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • IT proficient (MS Office)

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience acting as a Business Partner to key Operational Managers & Executives
  • Experience with SQL querying
  • Experience with tools similar to COBRA or Primavera
  • Experience with Altyerx (or similar)
  • An intent to qualify with a professional body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Background in Mathematics, Modelling, Economics, Business or Finance
    The successful candidate will be from a multi-disciplinary background with a proven track record of having demonstrated the key competences listed above.

WHO WE ARE:

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD’s materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).
Working together as Team Leidos we are helping to transform the UK’s defence supply chain by providing an integration of a complex mixture of services, at low risk, using a modern suite of systems that will deliver one version of the truth. For the first time, the MOD will see the whole picture, as it is happening.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Leidos Europe is looking for a Finance Analyst to join the UK team based in Bristol. Leidos works closely with its customers to provide ongoing support and services to multiple public sector organisations. This role is primarily concerned with Leidos Europe’s largest contract, which supports the UK MoD’s procurement, storage and distribution activities.
The role offers the opportunity to work on cross functional teams; interfacing with, Programme Management, Scheduling, Distribution and Procurement Cost Management, Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis.
You will need to demonstrate enthusiasm, determination, an ability to build productive relationships across diverse skillsets and ultimately will need to deliver on time and to a high quality in a fast paced dynamic environment. It is important that you have a ‘team player’ mind-set, as sharing knowledge with existing members of the highly skilled Finance Team will be critical to success.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a key member of Programme Team and act as a Finance Business Partner
  • Provide highest level of customer service to all customers and stakeholders.
  • Be a Finance Business Partner for commissioning. This includes:
  • Responsible for consolidating and verifying new business pricing proposals.
  • Track proposal status and distribute commercial documentation.
  • Working with project managers and other finance functions to ensure continuity
  • Own cost savings (Benefit) models. This includes:
  • Update & analyse complex data models on a monthly basis.
  • Close out models for year-end revenue claim.
  • Business partner with external providers & grow cost saving performance.
  • Support bi-annual forecasting for the full programme budget submission.
  • Load submission into Cobra system
  • Reconcile & analyse results for correctness
  • Provide support with analysis & variance walk presentations
  • Provide excellent ad hoc support to a wide variety of stakeholders both within the finance leadership team, and within wider operational teams.
  • Collaborate with the customer and respond to customer queries and audit requests.
  • Support external audit where required.
