    Mō te tūranga | About the Role
    The Financial Control team is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation, analysis and reporting of financial performance mainly focused on month-end.
    The focus of the Finance Analyst role includes but is not limited to; the preparation of month end journals, month end Balance Sheet reconciliations and attestations. There is also a significant ad-hoc component to the role in supporting additional requests/analysis. This role also exists to ensure our internal process are robust, so an element of process improvement is required to ensure we continue to provide information in a timely manner.
    Westpac implemented Oracle ERP and Oracle EPM in 2023. A key focus is to ensure we are using the systems to our benefit, driving improvements and change in financial output through simplification, automation and standardisation.

In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring accuracy and data integrity of both month-end balance sheet and profit & loss.
  • Perform financial control functions including (but not limited to) month end balance sheet substantiation, Intercompany and Elimination reconciliations.
  • Drive finance reporting preparation and continuous improvements and/or automation where practical.
  • Preparation of finance results and commentary for the business where required
  • Understand, apply, and monitor the application of technical accounting concepts to ensure accurate and timely reflection of business financial performance.
  • Deliver the findings and recommendations of financial analysis in a professional, relevant and insightful way that develops understanding and inspires confidence for decision makers

  • Strong Accounting and GL knowledge
  • Advanced excel skills
  • University qualification
  • Be CAANZ qualified or working towards
  • 2-4 years’ previous financial services or accounting role experience
