Description:

Our client is a non-profit that works closely with the Furniture industry and currently seeking a Finance and Administrative Manager to work out of their beautiful office in downtown Grand Rapids.
Responsibilities
Accounting
Maintains accurate records of all financial transactions
Reconciles month close and monitors to budget
Processes all payments and ensures accounts are updated
Prepares and issues all invoices. Tracks and resolves outstanding accounts receivable
Processes payroll and expense statements
Coordinates annual audit
Budget
Recommends budget for office administration
Consolidate annual budget
Identifies cost saving ideas
Prepares annual budget in accounting software by GLC and Department.
Investments
Monitors accounts for compliance with investment policy
Researches and recommends account opportunities to maintain ratios within investment policy
With President & CEO, opens and closes accounts as necessary, including the transfer of funds when necessary
Reporting
Creates monthly financial reports
Creates reports for Financial Committee review and Board Meetings 3x per year
Maintains master membership listing based on annual renewals and new memberships
Completes annual census reports and estimated sales tax reports as necessary
Events
Reconciles registration reports, merchant account reports, with payments received.
Administration
Serves as point of contact for various service providers: IT, lease, auditors, payroll provider, voice and data providers.
Facilitates annual benefit reenrollment working with benefit consultant.
Facilitates annual insurance renewals with insurance agent.
Support president in periodic solicitation of service proposals to maximize services and ensure competitive pricing.
Support occasional recruiting: position posts, order background checks.

Maintain all official association records. Contracts, employment, insurance policies, tax and audit documents etc.

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in an accounting role
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience in Bank Reconciliations and Bookkeeping
  • Experience with Month End Close procedures
  • Knowledge of Payroll procedures and systems
  • Proficiency in using QuickBooks software
