EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Finance, Accounting, and/or equivalent; minimum 2 years of experience in Non-Profit sector.
  • Financial and Accounting background required.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) a plus.
  • Proven success in the risk management field.
  • Proven ability to budget and track and manage budgets.
  • Proven experience in fiscal development, analysis, and reporting of Federal and State grants.
  • Understanding complex regulatory guidelines, their interpretations, and applications.
  • Experience in identifying and recommending alternative solutions to optimize grant utilization.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheet & database development is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in utilizing data management systems.
  • Excellent ability to problem solve along with solid analytical skills, understanding of the business process, and systems optimization.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management in multiple areas.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, system, and business administration.
  • Ability to review data and make relevant management decisions.
  • Knowledge of related regulations and available resources.
  • Extensive experience in working with multi-ethnic and diverse communities, including delivering culturally competent services and working effectively in multi-cultural situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing and public presentation skills.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in English; Bilingual skills preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. Highly responsive to unscheduled tasks such as crisis intervention and debriefing, and unplanned program reporting.
  • Competency in use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Access/Publisher), the Internet for research and accessing services, and other relevant tools for e-mail and data entry.
