Description:

The Niagara Falls Public Library (NFPL) is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and disciplined individual for the new role of Finance and Executive Associate.
As the assistant to the Finance and Administrative Coordinator and assistant to the CEO, the Finance and Executive Associate will provide comprehensive support to the operations of the Administration department, ensuring the Library’s organizational effectiveness. Reporting to the Finance and Administrative Coordinator, the incumbent will perform a wide range of financial, administrative, and executive support duties which includes accounting, bookkeeping, record-keeping, report writing, and meeting coordination, as well as executive support for the CEO and Library Board.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated competence with finance and accounting principles and procedures, administration, and an aptitude for conducting presentations to various audiences such as the Library Board and community stakeholders. A commitment to exceptional service, planning and organization and attention to detail is also essential. Experience with the Workday enterprise resource planning platform is an asset.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in standard office software, including spreadsheets, databases, and record-keeping systems.
  • Understanding of basic organizational planning/reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in using Workday Software is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all stakeholders including Library Board members, members of the public, management, and community stakeholders.
