We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to provide support in data entry and accounting tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in the finance field.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in data entry and/or accounting roles, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for data entry and analysis
  • Familiarity with accounting software and systems
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role within the retail sector
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CMA, etc.) or progress toward certification

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter financial data into the company’s accounting system, ensuring data integrity and timely completion
  • Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and financial documents
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities, including processing payments and issuing invoices
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, statements, and records
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes
  • Assist in maintaining proper documentation and filing systems for financial records
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to financial data
  • Follow internal accounting controls and contribute to the development of efficient processes
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned
