We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to provide support in data entry and accounting tasks. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop their skills and gain valuable experience in the finance field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in data entry and/or accounting roles, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for data entry and analysis
- Familiarity with accounting software and systems
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role within the retail sector
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements
- Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CMA, etc.) or progress toward certification
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter financial data into the company’s accounting system, ensuring data integrity and timely completion
- Verify and reconcile invoices, receipts, and financial documents
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities, including processing payments and issuing invoices
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, statements, and records
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes
- Assist in maintaining proper documentation and filing systems for financial records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to financial data
- Follow internal accounting controls and contribute to the development of efficient processes
- Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned
