SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role (ideally at least 2 years).
- Excellent working knowledge of cloud-based accounting system (Xero).
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting knowledge and principles.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills including problem solving skills.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Due to rapid company expansion, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our emerging and growing finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial data and compliance supporting our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions and record keeping. This role is crucial in helping us maintain financial health and integrity as we continue to grow. The successful applicant will have experience of management accounting and financial reporting and have an AAT qualification or part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (qualified by experience would be considered).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software and databases.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions including staff expenses.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with month end and year end close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries as required.
- Process monthly payroll and VAT preparation and submission.
- Communicate with suppliers and customers to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with the production of monthly spend reports.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures whilst collaborating to improve accounting processes.
- Other additional duties as required.
