Finance Assistant (Scale 5)
1 x Sc5 35 hours per week (6 month Fixed Term) with possibility of extension

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accountancy Service of the Finance Directorate currently has a vacancy for 1 Finance Officers (Scale 5), to be part of teams (specifically Children providing accounting and business support across a range of financial services.
These posts present an excellent opportunity to develop your career through gaining experience within the Council’s corporate accountancy service in these challenging times.
Roles have generic job descriptions across the department’s full range of accounting services, providing flexibility for the organisation and the individual. Successful candidates will be matched to the area where their skills best fit.
Who we are looking for:

Finance Assistant responsibilities include to:

  • Have responsibility to provide support for a defined range of financial processes e.g. budgets, monitoring, reconciliations, maintaining financial records, transactions and controls
  • Provide advice to service managers and others on agreed financial procedures
  • Work on your own and with others to utilise your capabilities with Excel, other IT and communication skills to analyse and prepare financial information in a clear and timely manner.
