QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possesses fine attention to detail.
- Strong and confident communicator, and experience of working within a team.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn new processes and systems
- Well-organised and proactive with time management .
- Able to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use prior knowledge and experiences to solve problems.
- Shows a genuine interest in finance/accounting.
- Confident intermediate level Excel user (e.g. able to produce pivot tables from scratch and use VLOOKUP’s)
- Previous experience in AP.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to grasp importance of working in a regulated environment and adhering to FCA or equivalent regulator rules
- Previous experience of Xero accounting system (desirable but not required) or other accounting software
Responsibilities:
- Processing purchase invoices, managing purchase ledger by ensuring costs/VAT accounted for correctly and settling invoices on the accounts payable (“AP”)
- Monitoring of group AP inbox and liaising with suppliers to resolve queries
- Processing employee expense claims and credit cards in line with company policy and adhering to strict Matrix of Authorities (“MoA”)
- Preparation of weekly payment run/setting up payments in bank
- Performing daily/monthly bank account reconciliations using the Xero accounting system
- Assisting in the daily liquidity analysis and managing of cash amongst the group
- Preparing daily trading P&L reports for management review
- Assisting with month and year end reporting, including liaising with financial auditors across the group
- Assisting with any other ad hoc bookkeeping and management accounts tasks
- Helping support transition to greater efficiency on AP workflows
