Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or currently pursuing a degree in finance/accounting).
  • Basic understanding of finance and accounting principles and payroll.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous finance or accounting experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry: Accurately record financial transactions into the accounting software, including invoices, expenses, and journal entries.
  • Invoice Processing: Assist in processing invoices, verifying supporting documentation, and ensuring timely payments to vendors.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded in the financial records.
  • Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions, including tracking outstanding payments and following up with clients or vendors as necessary.
  • Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including filing and archiving of documents.
  • Assist with Month-End Close: Support the finance team in preparing financial reports and statements for month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in preparing basic financial reports and analysis as requested by senior finance staff as well as Payroll.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to resolve financial queries and issues.
  • Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support to the finance department, such as answering phones, handling mail, and managing office supplies.
