Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
As part of the Commercial Planning & Analysis team, this role is key to supporting Global Markets, more specifically Global Channels in the EMEA Finance team with the project management of forecasting / budgeting cycles for Channels (revenues and costs) across the region, and to provide decision support and create value for BBC Studios by using your exceptional relationship management, financial modelling, analytical and business case development skills, so bring commercial insights and business partnering support to the EMEA markets.
- Along with the EMEA CP&A Lead, become a regional point of contact for various group finance teams regarding forecasting, planning, reporting of Global Channels, as well as financial system communications for dissemination across the EMEA region.
- Along with the EMEA CP&A Lead become a Global Channels expert that the Head of Commercial Finance, Senior Finance Business Partner and Commercial Analyst colleagues can rely on during forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring the team meets all deliverables for submissions and reporting.
- Become a SAP Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) superuser for the region, contributing to group projects focussed on continually improving financial reporting systems globally.
- Work with Regional Sales Teams and SVPs in the consolidation of rolling forecasts and risks/opportunities as and when required; alongside the EMEA CP&A Lead. Lead in the preparation of review meeting packs with regional SVP’s, the EMEA and Group Leadership Teams.
- Work with the heads of numerous lines of business and leverage your understanding of commercial drivers to support the development & submission of budgets and forecasts into finance systems
- Work closely with the Finance Business Partner to gain an understanding of the Global Channels revenues and cost drivers specific to the EMEA sub-regions, to provide maximum value via analytical modelling, insights, recommendations and commercial deal support, across a variety of lines of business
- Provide advice and guidance to the business on any ad hoc commercial and contractual matters, to ensure optimum long-term value for BBC Studios
- Produce & present financial and operational analytics & KPIs, providing forward thinking insights to enable strategic decision support
- Continually challenge current thinking and make recommendations on how to optimise business opportunities and minimise risk/cost to the business.
- Continually use your understanding of business systems and processes to develop models, systems and business processes to meet divisional business and CP&A team needs
- Accurately interpret commercial contracts so that financial models reflect underlying commercial terms
- Collaborate with external partners to gather data that will inform financial and operational analytics
- Provide support to the Actuals and Reporting team at Year End to ensure a smooth and accurate close
