As a Finance Business Partner for Business Deposits, you’ll be part of an experienced team of c30 Finance professionals who work with colleagues across Commercial, Finance, Operations and Risk, to support financial planning, track financial performance and provide data driven insight on all elements of mortgage lending to support commercial decision making. The role is dynamic, varied and focussed on providing the support to enable Commercial to deliver on strategy.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting in the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process, ensuring that the Commercial teams’ rationale and approach are challenged as part of making key strategic decisions.
  • Delivering data led financial analytics to underpin financial forecasts.
  • Assisting the Commercial team by providing financial analysis to inform decision making, including product pricing and profitability assessments.
  • Building strong and effective working relationships with colleagues in Commercial, and other areas of Finance including Financial Control, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Treasury.
  • Providing support to the wider business on status of performance vs Corporate Plan through timely financial insight and commercial awareness, as well as assisting the Financial Control team in preparing management information to support the appropriate deliverables.
  • Supporting the production of performance reporting to the LT and Board.
  • Being responsible for maintaining simple and straightforward processes to drive an efficient and flexible function which can react quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Working with Treasury to manage interest rate and liquidity risk.

We need you to have

  • Strong financial modelling and excel skills using up to date analytical and forecasting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and financial analytical skills gained in a financial environment.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across the business to support and challenge key financial assumptions.
  • Effective communication skills, with ability to convey detailed data driven analysis in simple, clear, and concise form.
  • Commercial acumen, demonstrating business understanding and key drivers of performance.
  • A natural curiosity and drive to know more. Also be hardworking, with a real eye for detail – must enjoy working in a hands-on environment with a small, tight-knit team.
  • Resilience and have a mindset that embraces change.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

  • An accountancy qualification (or equivalent) with a progressive record of success
  • Data Analytical skills, including use of software such as SAS and Power BI, would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of financial performance reporting standards and techniques.
