Summary
We are looking for a “Finance Business Partner (f/m/d)” for the “Ground Based Systems” division and in particular for the “SpähFz NG ‘KORSAK’ project and its follow-up projects at the Oberkochen or Aalen site.
The mission pack offered for this project will massively advance HENSOLDT Optronics’ roadmap for the integration of various sensors and components, data fusion and artificial intelligence. It is thus one of the major offensives for HENSOLDT Optronics on its way to a key role in the German and European market for land-based systems for the next decades.
The Finance Business Partner acts as co-pilot and is the driving force behind the financial performance of the project / program / division. He/she is also responsible for the commercial part of all HENSOLDT offers and ensures coordination between all parties involved and the customer.
The Finance Business Partner is the “first” contact person and competent discussion partner for the project / program manager and has the task of bringing together the different perspectives. He/she acts both as an internal consultant and as a sparring partner for the project/program manager and is valued for communicating in a spirit of partnership and for maintaining a trusting relationship with the contact persons.

Your Tasks

  • Regularly informing the project manager about the financial project status and proactively questioning the project methods in order to increase quality and efficiency
  • Planning and processing of projects with high complexity, with focus on milestones, financial project control, definition of target costs, monitoring of costs, including opportunities and risks and maintaining contact with customers
  • Sparring partner and co-pilot for the project and support the project manager financially and monitor contract fulfillment and subcontractor performance where applicable
  • Responsibility for commercial reporting on the project in the relevant committees (EAC)
  • Introduction and development of new methods / processes for project management (project planning)
  • Review customer acquisitions / RFQ and prepare corresponding commercial proposals and assist in the preparation of acquisitions, including needs assessment and selection of projects based on commercial and technical factors
  • Preparation and negotiation of bids or contracts with high contractual complexity, including technical / economic / environmental assessment of project realization as well as risk assessment in close coordination with Contract & Commercial (based on a defined cooperation scheme) or other involved Centers of Competence in Hensoldt
  • Preparation of complex transversal calculations for internal proposal and project approval (RMC), as well as preparation of price details for the commercial offer
  • Responsibility for business planning and reporting as well as supporting periodic closing activities for the respective department
  • Handling of special cases with high complexity in case of customer complexity (e.g. territorial or cultural differences) or exports (e.g. control requirements, Incoterms and customs, offset) as well as in the warranty phase

Your Profile

  • Education with >7 years of professional experience or preferably academic degree in business administration (or comparable field) with >5 years of professional experience
  • Experience in commercial project delivery in complex environments (contractual or customer related complexity), including expertise in the application of various project management tools and frameworks (Waterfall, Agile / Scrum) depending on the needs of the projects
  • Expert knowledge in finance areas (treasury, accounting, tax, controlling) with deep understanding of the interfaces between all finance areas
  • Excellent knowledge of (inter)national contract law and the ability to identify and analyze risks, solve contractual problems and negotiate complex contracts
  • Very good understanding of P&L and balance sheet, focus on project-relevant items such as receivables, inventories, liabilities
  • Very good understanding of the technical aspects of the project and the link between the project and overall objectives (at program and divisional level)
  • Foresighted and entrepreneurial thinking (acting as an ‘entrepreneur’), proactive and critical questioning
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Flexible, agile and solution-oriented mindset
  • Good German and English language skills
