JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the finance and administration team by assisting in financial accounting, analysis & report preparation as well as facilitating financial processes across the organization.

EDUCATION :

  • Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA designation would be an asset, but not mandatory.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of accounting/financial services support during which time professional capability has been clearly demonstrated.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with systems such as Concur and QuickBooks.
    Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete expense report review and payments in compliance with expense policy
  • Reconcile, maintain and balance bank accounts – liaising with financial institutions as required.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare working papers and journal entries for CED as well as related entities, CFCL and OCIF
  • Support the integration and set up of improved automation with other related party entities (i.e. Concur, banking, EFT)
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and notes and assist in managing the annual external audit process of the organization to ensure audit requirements are met
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operational reports to management, the Board, Audit Committee and City reports.
  • Provide continuous, monthly, and quarterly forecasting, cash flow reporting, budget preparation and support
  • Support activities for monthly and annual reporting of key metrics in CRM, balanced scorecard, and business plan
  • Provide support in editing/improving policies and process - prepare policy documentation, create systems and procedures to maximize efficiencies.
  • Provide support to team members as required typically by gathering information, preparing correspondence, providing reports and other documents, directing others in various administrative, forecasting, budgeting and accounting areas.
