WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR – REQUIREMENTS:

  • University-level education (Finance / Business Administration).
  • ACCA / CIMA / CA (SA) qualification is an advantage
  • 7-10 years experience in a multinational company with ideally 2 years at the Finance Director level
  • Fluent English
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, and SAP.
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally and work closely with all aspects of entity operations.

Responsibilities:

WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT – PURPOSE

The Finance Director sets and leads the financial strategy of the South African entity essential for accurate Regional and Global Reporting. He/she has direct oversight of FP&A, Entity Finance and Internal Controls Departments. The Finance Director works closely with the General Manager and local ExCom to set the business strategy. He/she is a key figure in risk assessment. Implementing & monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets, protect the integrity of financial information, and for compliance with JTI and statutory requirements. The Finance Director plays a supporting role in Tax, IT, GIP(Procurement), Supply Chain, Corporate Governance and statutory compliance and provides information required from shareholders and the Board of Directors. He/she is a key preparer of the Annual Financial Statements and other required statutory filings.

WHAT WILL YOU DO – RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives (BS, P&L, Cash Flow, Working Capital). Forecast and provide adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs whilst returning maximum investment to shareholders (when the entity will be profitable). Provide timely, reliable and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts to the local ExCom as well as Regional / Global colleagues
  • Manages and leads the financial planning (OL/LE/SRP/ASP, Business Review), internal and external reporting and the monthly actuals closing activities for the South African market within the guidelines and timings as set by Regional Finance, Corporate FP&A & Controllers Group. Directs and oversees process improvement for market planning, analysis and reporting (internal & external)
  • Provide management team with strategic input on the financial implications of business activities and decisions. Establish and maintain strong relationships with the management team to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions. An active member of the local ExCom who can offer strategic value add to the financial, operational, regulatory, fleet, personnel, stakeholder relationship and community investment aspects of the organization
  • Lead the internal controls function for the South African entity. Execute and monitor baseline controls in compliance with JTI FCG, IFRS and local statutory/regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. Take responsibility for OG, P&P and BAP/MEMO compliance. Internal Controls / FP&A team monitors BAP/MEMO expiration and renewal. Oversee strict adherence to the end-to-end Global P2P policy within the entity. Identify areas of potential non-compliance and implement mitigating measures for improvement. Work closely with Corporate Compliance and the RCO on PFC requirements and reporting
  • People management, Recruit, motivate and guide the professional development of the team reporting directly and indirectly to the incumbent. Lead and oversee all aspects of the FP&A, Entity Finance and Internal Controls Departments of the organization. Manage the team of direct reports and initiate efficiency measurement projects when necessary. Work closely with verticalized functions (Tax, GIP(Procurement), IT, Supply Chain) and provide guidance from a local perspective
