THIS POSITION IS BASED ON-SITE IN NEW YORK CITY WITH THE OPTION TO WORK REMOTELY 1-2 DAYS A WEEK.

Sodexo is seeking a Finance Director to join our prestigious corporate account team in New York City. This role is pivotal in managing the financial operations and performance of one of our most significant workplace catering contract clients, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and delivering exceptional financial insights and management.
The Finance Director reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and has 2 direct reports. This position will act as a business partner to the account VPO while also providing thought leadership on overall commercial management to the operations team. The expectation is that the Finance Director role conveys a high degree of executive presence and utilizes an impactful communication style that operates effectively at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
This is a dynamic, high visibility client facing role. This role is responsible for managing, controlling, and directing the financial function thereby ensuring accuracy of financial reports related to the operational activities of the contract to drive performance management. Ensures complete knowledge of monthly results, directs staff in the preparation of results presentation and recommendations to Sodexo and Client senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field highly preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance management, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations for large-scale accounts.
  • Highly prefer prior financial experience supporting a contracted food services organization.
  • Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools, including PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
  • Oversee the financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage financial planning processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimization.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards using PowerBI for real-time performance tracking.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies.
  • Support contract negotiations and restructuring efforts to ensure profitability and compliance.
  • Lead financial planning for expansion into LATAM and APAC regions within the next 12 months.
  • Compliance and Controls:
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, company policies, and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain quality processes, including contract SOPs.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to maintain financial integrity and transparency.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Mentor and develop junior finance team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
