Job Description
Our Finance Teams: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants exposure to the Publishing businesses (Times & Sun) within News UK across a wide variety of areas including, paid sales, subscriptions, commercial, audience, editorial, brand extensions and marketing.
Day to day you will:
+ Providing cover within the Team – This role is varied as members of the current team will need to test our new SAP system. This role is primarily to provide cover to these team members across a wide variety of areas and will be different week on week.
+ Reporting- Weekly and Monthly reporting of relevant KPIs and costs. Whilst this role does not involve intensive month-end processes, working with our shared service centre in Peterborough you will be responsible for ensuring costs and revenue are recorded accurately. Maintain and enhance all KPI reporting, providing analysis and good understanding of any risks/opportunities identified.
+ Analysis- Undertake analysis on performance weekly and monthly giving insight to Heads of Finance
+ Ad Hoc -Although a short-term contract there will be ad-hoc requests to support Head of Finance and Finance Director
+ Automation- Strive to drive automation through efficiencies including the use of AI
What we are looking for from you:
+ Fully Qualified Accountant with a number of years PQE
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple departments finance and non- finance colleagues
+ Proactive, problem solving, ‘can do’ attitude to work with multiple stakeholders of varying finance knowledge
+ Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
+ Media / digital marketing experience helpful, not essential
+ Strong excel skills (experience with TM1 beneficial but not essential)
