Baltimore Aircoil Company South Africa, BAC, is a global manufacturer of heat transfer products and services. We specialize in developing resource-saving evaporative cooling equipment that conserves water and energy. The products of BAC South Africa are distributed across Sub-Saharan Africa.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Serve as final point of escalation for accounts receivable and payable matters
- Submission of monthly statutory returns requirements
- Review, approve and implement internal controls to reduce risks within the organization
- Lead continuous improvement and problem-solving activities to support teamwork
- Lead and finalize annual audit process and prepare financial statements according to reporting frameworks
- Preparation of monthly reporting packs and performance reports against the budget and long-term strategy – multi currency and US GAAP (D+4)
- Annual budget and future financial strategy preparation with management team, followed by presentation to the Leadership Team
- Capital expenditure – planning, negotiations of price and terms, and expenditure
- Monthly calculation of salary provisions, bonus payouts and sales commission
- Recruit, train, and develop finance team members. Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A qualified Chartered Accountant with manufacturing experience, judgment to plan and accomplish financial goals and close out month end reporting within deadlines
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a leadership role and the ability to work with a great degree of independence
- Possess a solid working knowledge of SA statuary reporting and tax requirements
- Experience in multinational / multicurrency business environment
- Working experience of government agencies – SARS, SARB, CIPC, Statistics South Africa
- Contract interrogation and negotiations – customers, suppliers, labour, insurance, and financiers
- Developing and management of BEE strategies
- Budgeting and forecasting – annual, quarterly and weekly cash forecasts
- Demonstrated expertise in Office 365 applications & ERP finance modules
- Financial statement analysis
- Experience with developing and monitoring financial KPI’s

Responsibilities:
The Finance Manager leads a small team, and is responsible for meeting the management, financial accounting, and statutory requirements of the business in an efficient and ethical manner.
This position reports locally to the MD but holds strategic relationships with the global BAC finance teams. As part of the local leadership team, the Finance Manager will support internal functions including manufacturing, supply chain, sales, HR and IT and is as such an on-site position.
