Description:

FINANCE MANAGER

  • Immediate Start
  • Salary £45K-£60K
  • 32 days holiday inc bank holidays
  • 5 days in the office, based at Victoria Warehouse
  • 40 hours per week.
  • 3% pension contribution
  • Team of 3; Payroll Manager, Credit Controller & a Finance Assistant.
  • Responsible for x5 limited entities, total turnover £10m
    Reports To: Finance Director
    Location: Trafford Wharf Rd, Trafford Park, Manchester M17 1AB
    Company: Compact Security Services Ltd (including four additional
    limited entities within a security group)

  • Proven experience in financial management, preferably within a multi-entity organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional analytical and forecasting abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools.

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Finance Manager will oversee and optimize financial processes across the organisation, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include producing financial reports, conducting internal audits, mentoring department heads, and preparing budgets and forecasts. The role also involves day-to-day management of payroll, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payment processing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Produce accurate daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.
  • Develop and manage monthly and annual forecasts in collaboration with the Operations Consultant and Managing Director.
  • Prepare and present financial statistics and performance reports to the Finance Director.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of annual budgets to align with financial objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reconciliations and reporting during period-end processes.
  1. Process Optimisation & Internal Controls
  • Standardise and audit finance procedures across departments.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies through internal audits.
  • Implement efficient financial systems and processes to meet evolving business needs.
  • Ensure best practices are consistently applied across departments.
  • Oversee compliance with company policies, ensuring adequate segregation of duties.
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and inspire the finance team, fostering a collaborative and proactive environment.
  • Provide training and mentorship to departmental managers, enhancing financial acumen across the organisation.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment with business objectives.
  1. Strategic Financial Planning
  • Challenge and refine monthly forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Prepare and review weekly and monthly expenditure, including payroll and client contract gross profits (GPs).
  1. Operational Oversight
  • Manage payroll, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payment proposals.
  • Supervise payroll submissions, including FPS and pension data.
  • Ensure accurate VAT returns and cash flow reports.
  • Conduct regular debtor and creditor reviews, ensuring timely resolutions.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and relevant legislation.
  • Represent the company as an ambassador, promoting its values and professionalism.
  • Provide ad hoc financial investigations and support as required.
