Description:
Downer Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Sydney. In this pivotal role you will work together with and support the Divisional Finance Teams to deliver relevant, efficient and compliant finance reporting. Supporting the General Manager of Group Reporting, the Finance Manager leads the Group Reporting team to produce monthly consolidated Board Reports, financial analysis and half to yearly external consolidated report to ASX.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT YOUR ROLE:
The Finance Manager is responsible for Financial Reporting, Statutory Reporting, Ad hoc analysis/Finance Projects, & conducting analysis, data manipulation, reconciliation and report / account consolidation. Managing a team of two direct reports, your duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Review the Group monthly consolidation process and result and perform variance analysis on Divisional performance for P&L and Cash flow.
- Review monthly group intercompany reconciliations/eliminations, review unusual balance sheet movements and classifications, and ensure all validations within One Stream are clear with no interco mismatches at month-end.
- Review monthly and half yearly loan covenants calculations
- Preparation of subsidiaries statutory accounts, including managing external audit process, Audit & Risk Committee papers, Gearing ratio model and monthly CFO report to the Board.
- Business partnering with the Divisions and the Planning team regarding Budget process. Prepare budget for those entity managed by Group reporting and assist the Planning team in reviewing divisional submission.
Provide technical assistance and support for reviewing contract revenue recognition, treasury for acquisition, IT projects and other transactions to Senior executives/ Divisions.Assist the Group tax manager in any tax related analysis including yearly Australian tax consolidations analysis.
The ideal candidate for this role will hold or demonstrate:
- Degree and CA qualified
- Demonstrated Group consolidation and reporting experience in a listed company
- People management experience coupled with strong leadership skills
- Sound technical accounting knowledge / AIFRS accounting standards
- Ability to interpret and challenge financial information provided by business units
- Ability to identify and resolve issues
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and business writing
- Strong task and time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently within a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to balance between the big picture, understanding business and management needs, as well as attention to detail thorough analysis of numbers, statutory reporting etc
- High level of knowledge in excelExperience in One Stream reporting systems would be advantageou
