CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Experience in the public sector or local government, including two years in a management or supervisory role within a unionized environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MAIS and Questica software is an asset.
- Preferred CPA designation or candidate.
- Knowledge of fund accounting.
- Ability to interpret legislation and make informed decisions.
- Creative problem-solving skills and good judgment.
- Strong time management, project management, and organizational skills.
- Leadership and supervisory experience with unionized staff.

Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations and act as Deputy CFO in their absence.
- Prepare and submit financial reconciliations,
- Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets for various tracking purposes.
- Provide support for year-end and audit activities, ensuring confidential recordkeeping.
- Supervise and mentor Finance Division staff, offering training, development, and performance management.
- Prepare statutory financial reports, including audited financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with PSAS and DTR bylaws, maintaining accurate accounts.
- Collaborate with the Director of Finance on financial control processes and procedures.
- Work with other departments on accounting policies, systems, and controls.
- Maintain relationships with provincial agencies, local governments, and regional jurisdictions.
- Prepare and present financial reports for the Mayor, Council, and other stakeholders.
- Attend Council meetings and other relevant committees as directed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
