Description:
Location: Midrand
Job Summary: The Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the branch office accounting and reporting activities for Ghana and Kenya, as well as managing the credit control process in collaboration with Shared Services. The role also involves preparing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations. Additionally, the Finance Manager will support treasury activities within the finance department. This position requires performing various ad hoc tasks as reasonably assigned to help achieve the objectives of the Finance Department and serves as a support backup for the Head of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accountant duties.
- Manage BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) compliance.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Manage full audit processes.
- Prepare month-end reporting pack, including branches.
- Perform month-end duties.
- Manage and report on foreign exchange contracts.
- Handle invoicing of recoveries.
- Conduct cycle run reviews.
- Review payroll reconciliations prepared by human resources.
- Align activities with the Shared Services Centre in KL.
- Manage Coface (Trade Credit nsurance).
- Complete Stats SA questionnaire.
- VAT management.
- Handle ad-hoc requests and support the Head of Finance.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
- Proven track record of working in a similar capacity within a mid to large-sized company.
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (ie SAP).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations.
- Ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
