REQUIREMENTS
- Accounting Qualification (CIMA, ACCA)
- 2+ years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in a SaaS or tech business.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes and accounting principles.
- Experience managing finance teams with a focus on developing skills and improving performance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial software. (NetSuite preferred)
- Solid understanding of revenue recognition rules.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE – FINANCE MANAGER
The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations, ensure smooth execution of the company’s day-to-day finance processes, and oversee the month-end close process. This position involves managing the finance team, implementing process improvements, and ensuring financial controls are adhered to across all transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance operations team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Ensure team performance aligns with company goals.
- Month-End Close: Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring that all financial data is accurately reconciled and reported in a timely manner. This includes journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Financial Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, and banking processes, ensuring they run efficiently and accurately.
- SaaS Billing & Revenue Management: Oversee SaaS-specific billing cycles, subscription renewals, and ensure accurate revenue recognition in line with accounting standards.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Monitor and optimise cash flow to ensure the business has sufficient working capital for operational needs.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and implement improvements, including the automation of manual tasks using appropriate financial tools and software.
- Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Ensure all financial operations comply with local tax, regulatory, and legal requirements. Lead efforts around any audits or tax filings, including VAT submission.
- Financial Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls to ensure compliance with policies and minimise risk.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring contracts and terms are optimised and payments are managed in line with cash flow planning.
- Financial Analysis: Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives and business decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and customer success teams to ensure alignment of financial operations with business needs, especially regarding subscription billing and customer payments.
