Description:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of Access Dimensions software is advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing a finance or accounts team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and report generation.
  • Familiarity with payroll and all accounting frequencies (daily, weekly, monthly, annually).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Finance Manager who brings expertise, strong leadership abilities, and the drive to ensure high standards in finance operations.
In this role, you’ll provide clear guidance to a team with varied skill levels, focusing on accuracy, development, and best practices in accounting.
Your responsibilities will include monthly management account preparation, budget management, and delivering clear and effective communication with senior leadership.
The ideal candidate will confidently manage team performance, spot training needs, and maintain high-quality financial practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting reconciliations.
  • Review control account reconciliations to facilitate year-end accounting, including profit and loss analysis.
  • Oversee and authorize bank reconciliations, sales, and purchase ledgers.
  • Assist with the year-end accounts and support the annual audit for timely, effective completion.
  • Authorize bank payments and oversee overheads.
  • Manage cash flow on a daily basis and lead the annual budget process.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly returns to HMRC.
  • Provide regular financial reports and updates to the management team.
  • Conduct monthly one-to-ones and annual performance reviews to support team growth.
  • Identify risks and communicate them promptly to senior management.
  • Handle negotiations for company insurances.
