Description:
We are looking to hire a Finance Manager II to join our team who would be responsible for on forecasting quarterly tax expense and leveraging these global forecasts to utilize tax attributes for planning purposes. The job will also include managing the Federal and State income compliance process with the assistance of other team members, primarily from our India office, as well as managing and coordinating with team members regarding tax planning associated with the global forecasts, and determining the impacts of discrete events including tax audits, provision to return true-ups, domestic and global legal entity acquisitions, internal restructuring and reorganization, and any other strategic planning. He/She will manage the tax return process, including all required disclosures with the assistance of an external provider and other team members. The work location would be our corporate office in Mexico City and the shift time would be 6:30am – 3:30pm Mexico City time zone and it’s a hybrid role.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Manage the US tax calendar and coordinate tax returns preparation and filings with external providers and/or other team members.
- Interact with company’s external tax and accounting advisors regarding provision and compliance issues.
- Coordinate preparation and conduct technical legal review of all federal and state tax returns
- Assist in completing worldwide income tax provisions timely and accurately in accordance with FAS 109
- Assist in tax account GL analysis, including current/deferred tax expense with accounting team and subordinates
- Assist with federal and state income tax audits effectively, utilizing necessary research tools
- Research multiple issues effectively in all areas of tax law, business operations, global economics and accounting
- Assist in developing and coordinating Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, departmental policies, procedures and processes to minimize global tax risks
Essential Traits:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; CPA, JD and/or Masters of Taxation degree a plus.
- Minimum of 8+ years tax experience with at least 2 years in public accounting.
- Demonstrate knowledge of tax compliance experience and knowledge of both cash tax and tax expense forecasting
- Demonstrate knowledge of working with income tax provisions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic tax research.
- Willingness to participate in multiple areas of tax, including foreign country tax regimes.
- Proven experience utilizing standard business (MS Office), tax (research and compliance) and accounting software applications.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential, sensitive information.
