QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education & Designation: A University degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a CPA-CA or CPA designation.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate finance, ideally within the real estate or asset management sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IFRS and advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial management systems such as Yardi is an asset.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading a small team and driving financial performance and process improvements. A passion for mentorship and team development.
  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong ability to think critically and solve complex issues while communicating financial matters effectively to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail & Organization: A keen eye for detail and excellent organizational skills, ensuring high standards in all areas of finance.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager, Corporate Finance, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting duties and financial operations for a range of corporate entities. This includes preparing financial statements, overseeing internal reporting, treasury management, tax planning, and supporting the company’s finance transformation initiatives. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, you will also lead a small team and work closely with senior leadership to support strategic financial decisions. This role offers exposure to all aspects of corporate finance and provides an exciting opportunity for a people and thought leader to help drive change and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Corporate Finance Leadership: Manage all aspects of corporate finance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of financial statements for corporate entities, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • External Auditor Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, managing the audit process and ensuring the provision of necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Tax Compliance: Coordinate with tax advisors and authorities to ensure compliance with tax laws and timely completion of tax filings.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and the management of bank accounts to ensure the company’s financial health.
  • Distributions & Redemptions: Manage the process for distributions, redemptions, and commission calculations, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Fund Accounting Support: Assist with tracking and reporting on fund performance, valuations, and other fund-related transactions.
  • Payroll Administration: Oversee the company’s payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • System Management: Manage the ongoing use of financial systems (including Yardi), ensuring data integrity and streamlining processes where possible.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performance corporate finance team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
