JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Finance Manager in Nigeria strategically oversees financial operations, ensuring compliance and contributing to organizational financial health. Responsibilities include robust financial planning and analysis, effective cash management, risk mitigation, and tax planning. The manager leads audit processes, establishes and enforces financial policies aligned with local regulations, and strategically implements and manages financial systems and technology. The role involves strategic decision-making in collaboration with other departments, focusing on cost optimization, and continuous adaptation to the evolving business landscape in our West African Markets that is Nigeria and Ghana. Leadership involves nurturing a skilled finance team, staying abreast of compliance changes, and actively contributing to strategic initiatives for the organization’s sustained success.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:
- Proven track record of successful financial leadership roles, preferably at a senior management level.
- Experience in managing diverse financial functions, including financial planning, analysis, reporting, and control.
- Familiarity with the local business environment, regulatory framework, and financial practices in Nigeria and Ghana
EXPERIENCE THAT WILL COUNT IN YOUR FAVOR:
- Fintech/Financial services Industry experience
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proven leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead and inspire a finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE:
- Implementing change at large scale
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, including executive management, board members, and regulatory authorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification such as ICAN, CPA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA.
- 7+ years experience in a commercial or finance role preferably with FinTech ,Financial or Management accounting fields
SKILLS:
- Sound financial background
- Advanced Excel skills are essential
