DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Finance Manager RTR to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.

Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity to support a super multi user site with both open and closed book contracts. You will support and lead a team of 3 whilst partnering closely with our operations colleagues.
This role is to manage the running of a controlled and efficient team within the Reporting Specialism. Working within DPDHL guidelines to ensure your team complete all processes accurately and on time and in an environment of continuous improvement. You will support with the implementation of standard processes and work alongside peers within your specialism to implement and monitor key KPI’s intended to measure both controls, accuracy and efficiency of the specialism.

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

  • Perform accounting processes in scope for a range of sites/customers or functions as directed like month end, reconciliations, fixed assets accounting etc.
  • Regular engagement with site ops teams and shared services on inputs and outputs for the completion of common processes
  • Focus on building deep business knowledge for the customer/sites in scope to facilitate judgemental decisions
  • Manage updates and maintenance of the period end and year end closing schedules for the customer/sites in scope
  • Perform review and reconciliation of the balance sheet on a periodic basis producing appropriate working papers and other supporting documentation in line with standard processes
  • Provide regular updates to the Reporting Controller on process completion and any escalations
  • Deliver the processes in scope to the agreed KPI requirements and support performance management
  • Support the continuous improvement agenda by providing documented suggestions on how quality and efficiency might be improved
  • Ensure all standard accounting processes on and off system are implemented and followed within your team, working closely with the Controller to implement continuous improvement
  • Manage workflow for the team alongside peers and ensure appropriate escalation
