POSITION SUMMARY

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • The Finance Manager has oversight and responsibility for the finance function and initiatives in Brussels and Luxembourg including:
  • Financial and Statutory Accounting
  • Finance Operations
  • Inventory Management
  • Analysis and Reporting
  • Budgeting
  • Actively promotes the finance coordination and integration between Finance and other Business Services functions and implement and maintain best working practices across the office;
  • Responsibility for operation and continuous improvement of the financial control environment of the Brussels and Luxembourg offices;
  • Ensure that partners are supported in all financial matters;
  • Expected to deliver a strong sense of client service to the function.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Professional services experience, preferably law firm experience;
  • Experience of team management;
  • Good knowledge of Belgian and Luxembourg GAAP and Belgian and Luxembourg Tax rules;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, ability to work effectively at all levels within an organization;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with difficult situations and find solutions;
  • A proven ability to work to tight deadlines, juggle multiple projects and deliver under pressure;
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, accurate, with an attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to manage own workload and priorities to meet deadlines;
  • Experience of working in a global organization preferred;
  • Experience in using 3E preferred.

EDUCATION- QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified Accountant (CA/SA / Bcomm / BAcc / CFA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years PQE

Responsibilities:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial and Statutory Accounting

  • Working closely with Regional/Global management as well as local advisors to ensure local statutory requirements are met;
  • Reviewing and reconciling all balance sheet and P&L accounts on a regular basis (cash vs accrual);
  • Preparing statutory accounts for all locally registered statutory entities;
  • Preparing tax returns for filings with both Brussels and Luxembourg Tax authorities (corporation, VAT, payroll);

Finance Operations

  • Managing Accounts Payable & Expenses, Treasury, and Financial Accounting functions;
  • Managing local treasury including payment runs;
  • Managing the payroll process including execution of payment of salaries;
  • Liaising with the Global Operations Centres in Manila, Tampa and the EMEA finance teams, as appropriate;
  • Managing local CARPA account;
  • Managing 3 staff members.

Inventory Management

  • Managing monthly billing and cash collections of the Brussels and Luxembourg offices;
  • Working with the EMEA Revenue teams to assist with collections to ensure invoices are paid within agreed terms as well as direct liaison with our clients;
  • Maintaining a continuous open dialogue with Partners and other key parties locally as required, ensuring inventory is managed effectively.

Analysis and Reporting

  • Reviewing Brussels and Luxembourg expenditure in detail against budget;
  • Collaborating with the reporting team to provide timely and accurate management information to assess office and matter performance both in terms of recoveries and in terms of profitability.

Budgeting

  • Working with the Regional Finance team to develop the Brussels and Luxembourg budgets annually;
  • Other reasonable duties as the business requires;
