Description:
The Town of South Boston is seeking an Administrative & Events Coordinator to join their team. This position provides support and collaborates with Destination Downtown South Boston (DDSB) Executive Director, local business owners, vendors, and others to facilitate downtown events that showcase the town’s cultural, historic, and business assets.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the Executive Director in maintaining accurate data and information for Virginia Main Street and Main Street America reporting and accreditation. Work that included grant submissions, applications, and presentations. Serve as primary administrative point of contact for DDSB and the Downtown South Boston Farmers Market for event management, planning, and facilitation. Adhere to all local, regional, and State regulations for downtown events including proper food labeling, appropriate licensures for food trucks, and other requirements. Develop work plans and schedules for events. Maintain detailed accounting and database for all events. Utilize social media to promote all downtown activities and events (primarily Facebook).
Minimum Education - High School diploma or GED, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, strong communication skills, and attention to detail. Knowledge of WordPress and a project management certification
The position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
