Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as our new Finance Officer! This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week, based at our Hospice in Cambridge.
The finance department at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is responsible for all financial reporting on income, expenditure and budgeting, along with managing staff payroll and pensions.
As our Finance Officer, you will work closely with the Finance Accounting Manager to contribute to the effective running of the finance department, this is a varied role where you can be involved in a wide range of finance and accounting tasks.

Main duties will include:

  • Overseeing the purchase ledger for the charity ensuring that regular reconciliations are done and that supplier records are accurate
  • Preparing efficient and accurate weekly payment runs and work closely with Finance Administrator regarding remittances
  • Ensuring incoming monies are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Complete weekly banking of cash and cheques.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations for all Charity and Trading Company bank accounts, including managing regular donations
  • Supporting the Management Accountant with month end transactions.

Successful applicants must have previous experience working in a finance role, working with double entry accounting and have experience in using accountancy packages and systems. A good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office packages is also required, along with good communication and problem-solving skills.
