Description:

  • ASIC is seeking a full time Finance Officer to join their Finance Team
  • Salary starting from $75,838 (depending on experience) plus up to 15.4% superannuation)
  • Permanent position based in Traralgon (other locations considered)

    The team
    The Finance team provides a range of financial support and analysis services to all of ASIC internal and external stakeholders. The Financial Operations, Treasury and Taxation team is responsible for the accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation and treasury functions across ASIC.

The role

  • Examine bank statements and reconciling public monies with general ledger entries
  • Complete daily and monthly reconciliations, investigate and take corrective action
  • Respond to internal and external audit queries, analyse financial data and respond to ad hoc requests
  • Assist in the completion of tax and statutory reporting obligations to facilitate compliance with legislation
  • Respond to business requests to issue invoices, manage the collection of payments from customers and provide recommendation for debt write off
  • Prepare and complete monthly compliance reports on supplier records to maintain integrity, controls and mitigate fraud
  • Provide daily cash forecast and process payments

About you

  • A relevant accounting qualification, working towards a qualification or proven industry experience
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to analyse succinctly, have attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in interpreting legislation and following policy and procedures
