Reporting Head of Finance

Job Purpose The Finance Officer plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of
Stewarts Care. The position involves financial and management reporting,
compliance with relevant regulations, implementation of change management
in processes and accounting systems and interaction with the Health Service
Executive (HSE)
Key Duties and 1. Financial Management and Reporting:
Responsibilities o Prepare draft annual Financial Statements in line with FRS102
o Prepare annual and monthly reports for the HSE.
o Prepare reports as required for the Charity Regulator.- Compliance and Audit Support:
o Manage the Internal Audit and External Audit processes.
o Manage the transition to Financial Reporting in line with
SORP, the charity standard.

o Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and
regulatory requirements.
o Manage and audit the implementation of new procurement
processes throughout Stewarts Care, in line with policy.
Support the procurement committee. - Budget Management
o Prepare annual budget costings for inclusion in the Service
Arrangement with the HSE.
o Manage capital budget reporting against funding received.
o Manage business case reporting and costing for additional
services to be funded. - Accounts Systems:
o In partnership with the HSE and Stewarts IT, work on the
transition over 2025 and 2026 to a new accounts system.
o Manage the chart of accounts and delegation of authority for
purchase orders. - Financial Analysis and Support:
o Analyse and report on financial data to support management
in decision-making.
o Provide insights into cost-saving opportunities and
operational efficiency improvements. - Communication and Collaboration:
o Prepare presentations for executive management and the
Board of Directors.
o Record and calculate key performance indicators on financial
performance.
o Liaise with internal departments, external vendors, and
regulatory authorities regarding financial matters.
o Provide financial information and advice to managers and
stakeholders as needed.
o Support the finance team on operational work as and when
required.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
Finance Officer Grade VI- Stewarts Care
Remuneration Remuneration is in accordance with the
Department of Health consolidated pay scales
Current Salary Scale: Clerical Grade IV
€55,093- €67,308 LSI pro rata
Salaries and increments are paid in accordance
with DOH salary scales
Annual leave 24 Days per annum pro rata
Working week The hours allocated to this post are 35 hours
per week.
The allocation of these hours will be at the
discretion of the Head of Finance and in
accordance with the needs of the service
Probation All employees will be subject to a probationary
period of 6 months, with an extension if
7
required to 9 months. This probationary period
applies to all employees irrespective of their
role or type of role.
Garda Vetting Stewarts Care will carry out Garda vetting on all
new employees. An employee will not take up
employment with the organisation until the
Garda Vetting process has been completed and
the organisation is satisfied that such an
appointment does not pose a risk to the service
users and employees.
