ABOUT THE BRANCH:

The Corporate Services Division provides support services necessary for Queensland Health to function effectively and deliver essential health services. The Division is responsible for major corporate functions including financial, legal and human resources services, information management services and overseeing key governance functions such as risk, audit and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities:

You will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service values.

  • Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Assist with the preparation of journals, including the collation of supporting documentation, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the data.
  • Ensure maintenance and integrity of data, financial systems, management tools, and reporting systems.
  • Monitor and reconcile data including but not limited to internal levies and charges to ensure that costs are correctly allocated, and relevant data is provided to management.
  • Respond to and support responses to, general financial enquiries, and requests for ad-hoc financial information, reporting, and advice.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and the business partnering team to support robust financial management within and across the Divisions, communicating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member in a client-focused environment, supporting the key work deliverables of the business partnering team.
  • Develop a foundation knowledge of best practice accounting skills, including knowledge of accounting concepts, Australian Accounting Standards, targeted financial management reporting, and internal finance principles and practices (including the FMPM).
  • Support and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders regarding a range of matters to enable the effective implementation of standard processes.
  • Contribute to the success of the team through continuous improvement initiatives and projects, delivering to agreed deadlines, and maintaining flexibility to work across assigned Business Partner portfolios (i.e. not be limited to your current assigned portfolio)

  • Strong attention to detail ensuring accuracy and quality of work
  • Efficiently navigates and manages conflicting deadlines with the ability to identify importance of tasks focusing on high priority tasks and actioning accordingly.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Power BI including the ability to understand formula driven models.
