About the Role
Core Accounting supports the business to create, validate and interpret its financial results to understand whether we are on track to meet our strategic objectives. Our understanding of business operations and products are integral to producing relevant financial information.
Working closely with the Finance Business Partnering Teams we interpret budgets and performance trends to measure and report on business performance.
We’re accountable for legal entity governance, operation of monthly processes and controls (including balance sheet reconciliations) and managing external audit requirements. Using our expertise as finance professionals, we pride ourselves on an environment of continuous improvement.
This role is important in supporting the Senior Finance Manager in ensuring that the business produce timely, accurate, high quality consolidated financial reporting, analyses and insight by working with the Business Unit Business Partners to allow the Senior Management and executive leaders to understand the current results and story behind the numbers to allow for effective commercial decisions to be made.
What you will be working on
- You will be responsible for leading end-to-end monthly financial reporting production processes, providing monthly management accounts, CFO packs and Board Reports that monitor performance against agreed KPI’s
- You will partner with business and finance stakeholders to understand performance and the commercial impacts, to produce effective analysis and challenge
- Highlight the key risks & opportunities to stakeholders based on analysis of results
- Produce high quality financial reports finance business partners, finance leadership team, senior management and the executive leaders
- Implement and review complex accounting standards, driving efficiency and accuracy in the preparation processes
- Implement improvements that address management letter points and internal control weaknesses
- Operate efficient governance and financial control processes that deliver high quality, timely, auditable output
- Manage effective process, workflow and system designs to drive efficiency and a culture of continuous improvement (accuracy, control, automation, simplification, efficiency, collaboration)
- Provide and review underlying financial analysis and support to internal and external auditors
Support projects within the business that support and improve financial reporting
- Operate as the number two to the Senior Finance Manager in the delivery of departmental outputs
- Manage a team of Management Accountants and Assistant Management Accountants
