Finance Summer internship, London
Looking for a Summer Internship for 2025 in a Finance role within Financial Services? We are offering talented students the opportunity to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience in to our business. The internship will offer a 10 week immersive experience during the summer in our London offices, taking place between June to August 2025.
The opportunity:
We are recruiting for a number of Summer Interns to join the Finance function, where you will gain unique insight in to our Finance division, the people who perform that role and our industry. While day-to-day responsibilities will vary based on your placement, this represents an incredible opportunity to build your foundational knowledge, professional skills and experiences to take your career in many different directions. Including the opportunity to secure a permanent opportunity upon completion of the internship.
Ideal candidates will be excited to work in a dynamic, results-oriented environment. If you consider yourself a driven, delivery focused individual with an eye for detail, we believe this opportunity is for you.
Who we are:
TP ICAP is a global firm of professional intermediaries playing a pivotal role in the world’s financial markets, energy and commodities markets.
The Group is home to a stable of premium brands. Collectively, TP ICAP is the largest interdealer broker in the world by revenue, the number one Energy & Commodities broker in the world, the world’s leading provider of OTC data, and an award winning all-to-all trading platform.
We provide market participants with execution via a range of regulated venues, covering a full spectrum of over-the-counter (OTC) asset classes, including FX, Rates, Credit, Equities, Energy and Commodities. Matching buyers and sellers via electronic, voice and hybrid channels, we facilitate the development of liquidity and price discovery in these markets and provide insight and context to our clients. Globally, we are a leading provider of proprietary OTC market data and analytics, with comprehensive coverage of financial, energy and commodities products. Our market data is independent, unbiased and non-position influenced.
Our clients include banks, insurance companies, pension and hedge funds, asset managers, energy producers and refiners, as well as risk and compliance managers and charities.
What you can expect:

Across the 10 week internship in the Finance division, you will observe a rotation across a number of teams. You will be working with subject matter experts in a number of fields, getting insight and hands-on experience with exposure to areas and duties including (but not limited to):

  • Journal entry
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supplier invoicing
  • Credit control
  • Management accounts preparation
  • Regulatory (FCA / CBI) reports
  • Commission system maintenance
  • Tax
  • Management Accounts preparation
  • Month end and half year close procedures
  • Financial modelling
  • Treasury management
  • Ad hoc project work including (but not limited to) reporting system automation and improvement

What you can get from the role:

The successful applicant will gain experience working across various areas of finance and, through their work, gain an understanding of the financial services industry. They will also have an opportunity to interact with various departments (Strategy, Compliance, Technology & Operations) and thereby develop an understanding of the end-to-end operation of a FTSE listed company.

What we require from you:

  • You will be a penultimate year student in a full-time study. You will have an expected graduation date between December 2025 to August 2026.
  • A clear interest in both Financial Services and the role of a Finance professional.
  • A passion for working with people and numbers.
  • Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. Able to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Can demonstrate both analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • An eye for detail.
