We have positioned the Finance service to ensure that it has the capacity and leadership required to deliver the excellent service that is needed and expected in order to achieve the Council’s future ambitions. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of the organisation, making a real difference and playing a crucial role shaping the future of the Council.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, the post holder will be responsible for the ongoing management, support, maintenance and enhancement of the Council’s financial information systems (ie General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Budgeting, Asset Register, etc) and financial reporting systems, plus managing supplier contracts and providing systems training.
The post holder will be proactive in challenging existing processes, exploring opportunities and new ways of working, whilst ensuring priorities are delivered within budget and timescales.

Until 31st March 2026 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a monthly deduction from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded three additional days leave (pro rata for part-time).
