As part of our continued growth & expansion, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller to join our dynamic and growing team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the IT or managed services sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage). Advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough understanding of Irish accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate management accounts to tight deadlines, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and associated reporting.
  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, analysing variances and providing actionable insights.
  • Business Partnering: Liaise with Business Leaders on mission P&L variances and assist with reports to monitor performance metrics.
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee tax compliance activities, including VAT returns, corporation tax, and other statutory filings.
  • Audit Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and control company expenses, ensuring all expenditures are within budget and properly authorized.
  • Systems and Processes: Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial information is accurately captured and reported.
