Description:
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant II based in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. This role functions within the industry, focusing on supporting various company accounting activities, from processing monthly revenue payments to drafting periodic financial projections and statements.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounting for fixed assets and process monthly revenue payments.
- Post various journal entries to the general ledger and ensure their accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Conduct financial and operational analysis, including treasury management fundamentals.
- Prepare cost/benefit analysis and contribute to related projects as assigned.
- Support periodic activities such as audit support, business line support, and tax return preparation.
- Enter monthly charges and payments into accounting software, and reconcile various bank accounts, resident and participant accounts.
- Manage cash, including verifying bank and general ledger balances to determine monies that can be transferred.
- Reconcile payments submitted versus received and submit Medicaid payments.
- Maintain responsibility for Medicaid submittal and payment reconciliation.
- Process HUD renewals and financial submission on an annual basis.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial statements supported by the underlying accounting records of the organization.
- Prepare work papers in preparation of audits and answer questions during mid-term and annual audits.
- Review and approve invoices for capital projects, Repairs & Maintenance, and Prepaid Expenses.
- Utilize Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, CaseWare, Ceridian, Concur, and other accounting functions skillfully.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial accounting or similar role
- Proven proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Experience with ADP - Financial Services is desired
- Familiarity with CaseWare, Ceridian, and Concur will be beneficial
- Ability to handle all Accounting Functions proficiently
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required
- Knowledge of Accrual Accounting principles
- Previous experience in Auditing is a plus
- Must be able to handle Month End Close procedures
- Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately
- Experience with Fixed Asset Accounting is a must
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
