Description:
Working closely with the Finance Manager where you will take full ownership of the AP cycle, including multi-currencies payment run and bank account reconciliation.
Supporting the Finance Manager with the month end process, including the preparation of the monthly consolidated management accounts, identifying trends and opportunities for increased financial performance, and assisting with the implementation of new systems. You will play a key role in the success of Ascend.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Handle the processing of invoices received from vendors. Ensuring that invoices are accurate, properly coded, and comply with company policies
- Review credit card statements and employee expenditure records to ensure valid documentation is provided before payment is made
- Work closely with heads of departments to obtain consent on all cash disbursements
- Responsible for onboarding new vendor
- Ensure good working relationship with vendors and acknowledge queries by ensuring that all queries are handled professionally and in a timely manner
- Accurate and timely processing of Telegraphic transfers into our banking platform
- Daily reconciliation of all incoming and outgoing payment from/to our banking platform to limit cash exposure
- Responsible for Bank Account Reconciliation
- Act as the Finance Manager number two in his absence
- Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of the Balance sheets Accounts Reconciliation
- Support the Finance Manager with month-end activities and audit queries
- Other ad-hoc responsibilities
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
- Knowledge of double entry accounting to enable accurate input of GL journals
- Experience with foreign currency payments is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
- Knowledge of Microsoft package and general desktop skills
- Ability to represent the team and company internally and externally in a professional manner
- Ability to accurately record and input financial information
- Previous experience in NetSuite is highly desirable
- Ability to embrace change
- Good organizational skills and time keeping
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Accounting or business degree or above with an interest to train as an accountant.
- Actively planning to study, or already committed to study towards an accounting professional qualification such AAT/ CIMA / ACCA or EU equivalent
- Ascend is able to provide financial support for accountancy qualification and study leave
